Hi. I'm Kate.

Welcome to my blog. I document my crazy life and attempt to update our 1980's home. Hope you have a nice stay!

Friday faves

I am joyful AF right now! It is like someone flipped a switch and the holidays are upon us. It even snowed a little this morning here!

These handful of weeks seem to go by so quickly so I love to soak all the cheerful coziness and holiday glam! What is ringing my bell this week? Let’s go!

1. Cozy throws

I washed my holiday pillow covers and throws on November 1. I couldn’t help myself. I love to come home from work, change into jammies, and curl up with the kids under a blanket. I got the red buffalo plaid one Amazon and the faux fur one from Kohl’s. Listen, these throws from Kohl’s are so soft and snuggly and they are so inexpensive compared to what else is out there. I was gifted one a month and it never even left our bedroom. I have it covering me every night. I ordered a couple more for the living room and for the kids so no one has to fight over them!

I love decorating in holiday colors and patterns!

How snuggly does that look? I love to sit in that chair and drink coffee (or wine!)

2. These FABULOUS heels!

Aren’t they adorable? And you know what? They are VERY comfortable! You can find them here! I have worn them all day multiple times with no problems at all. The part of the shoe that usually gets to me is the back and since these have no back they are perfect to wear all day. I love the pearl and rose gold detail. So winter-glam!

3. Holiday Starbucks cups!

They are just so cheerful! I love the idea of different patterns and colors too. What a great idea! I was going to post a photo of my own cup from my regular Thursday night run around treat, but sadly the Starbucks I went to last night was out. Bummer. I am sure you have seen them out and about with the different retro looking colors and patterns. Retro plus Christmas is everything wonderful wrapped into a delightful paper cup.

4. Ranch Green Beans

It is now DARK when I get home from work and it is hard to muster the energy to get dinner on the table. Plus I have been so busy at work that we have been eating a lot of chicken nuggets, Mac and cheese, or grilled cheese.

Getting veggies in the kids is always a challenge and even harder when I am so worn out. But these are easy. I buy FROZEN green beans - like a ginormous bag from Costco. I toss them in olive oil, (because I’m lazy I use tongs on a cookie sheet to mix them up), then I sprinkle ranch dressing seasoning onto them, a little salt and pepper, and finally some Parmesan cheese. I bake them for about 15-20 minutes at 350 or 400 depending on what else is in the oven until they are cooked and the cheese is brown-ish.

My kids love them. So easy. Plus green beans look awesome next to a plate of pasta with red sauce. Very festive!

5. These amazing mint chocolate covered pretzels!

Just buy them! Costco! Buy two you will thank me. I love to crush these up and sprinkle them on ice cream. Yum.

6. The most hilarious cat video

Finally, this video has been on the Internet for a while but it just cracks me up. I have laughed out loud and laughed until I cried just watching it over and over again.

Enjoy!

If you have other hilarious cat videos - please share them for the good of humanity!

Happy weekend folks!
